fek sake, why do people insist on fitting chav-me JVC units to replace the OEM Bose units >:(
I know DaveDND does not like Bose, but i doubt even him would prefer that JVC unit ;D
Seats don't look right for Elite cloth either :-/

Maybe because it sounds better? I have a JVC in my omega and its 10x better than what came out, although it is a proper double din unit and black, so it look better than silver, why people slag off sony and jvc I'll never know, they are a lot better than the factory fitted stereo, the only problem I have is stopping all the crappy plastic bits in the facelift from vibrating :o

am i the only person on here that likes the bose system perhaps its cos i am not into crap music lol
its loud enough plenty of bass nice trebble and no distortion at a normal level and the head unit looks nice in the dash
other than that cars not bad

I think Bose in the saloon sounds really good, no doubt its an old system (waits for crys of pain from DaveDND ;D)
Its a nice full round, and clear sound, combined with the OEM look. That JVC unit looks very wrong in that dash

i think the bose is good aswell it's loud enough and sounds great...think we'll leave the ear splitting bass to saxo/clit brigade
-
I think the Bose system sounds nice too, i tend to play rock/metal music and it sounds great, even at quite loud volumes :)
The trouble is, to replace it, you really need to replace all the speakers, add an amp and a decent head unit, then install it all, and for that you are looking at £1k plus to do it properly, and would you notice that much difference?
At home yes, or maybe sitting on your drive with no wind noise, but when actually driving i honestly dont think you would (and i love my hifi, i have Arcam stuff at home)

I've got a full cinema surround 7" flip out unit in mine. It has digital tv, reversing camera, I can stream music through Bluetooth on my phone, It will also take Sat Nav and the sound (Especially when using Dolby) is amazing in the car. When I'm done, it just folds away. £100 from ebay!

I've got an alpine iva-d300r in mine, its a 7 inch fold out tv sat nav dvd mp3 an so on the sat nav is very good and the sound when the dvd is on is amazing ! Alpine is definately the best sounding stereo i've ever had !!! :y

i hav a JVC unit in mine.... though i didnt have the bose unit. the reason i bought my unit was because i am a big music person and this unit had the ability to change frequencies... not jus the standard fade/base/treble rubbish

Doing a bit of upgrading Matt :question

Xtrons. I won it on egay, new and boxed cost £100. Reversing camera cost £30 on top and tv aerial was about £6

I do think to Bose kit is good in the Omega, however the biggest problem is who uses CD's anymore?
You want an mp3 cd player. Can fit a 100+ mp3s on one CD then.
Mines no longer got the Bose fitted, but thats another story as its got a full blown pc in the boot with a touchscreen in the dash! :P

Hello son, how you doing?
as you said. i want to install a new head unit which will play mp3/usb/mmc/and bluetooth in my omega elite.
how can i do this but keep the speakers and bose amp intact? i just want to add a new head unit. i'm not bothered by the steering controls. just need sounds.
ur help is much appreciated.
Thanks
