Title: Possible TRADE? My estate for your saloon?
Post by: Moos3h on 07 February 2010, 12:39:21
Hi all,

This is very much a feeler at the moment, but having just bought an estate especially to carry round lots of band equipment,  but it's not needed for that any more.

I've always preferred saloons, so I MIGHT be tempted to trade my estate if someone else on here wants a swap?

This is a warts-and-all trade, my miggy has a few issues as I'm sure all do, but it's generally a lovely car.

Here's the details:
1). MOT - Dec 2010
2). Tax - Aug 2010
3). Service History - Yes
4). Cambelt just done
5). Cam covers and breathers just done
6). ICV and TB clean just done
7). Secondary air pump removed as was noisy
8). Faulty powersounder removed.
9). Some minor rust around rear arches but nothing that can't be fixed.
10). Tailpipe (as in the actual tail pipe) has fallen off!

Oh and I think I've fixed this, but the carpets are a little damp in the back (dry in the front) which was a door seal incorrectly routed.  However, till they dry out, I can't be 100% certain I've got it.

160k+ miles (will increase as in daily use) and it's a CDX so climate, alloys, velour interior.

It's a V reg, 2000 facelift 2.5 V6 Manual in Champagne and I'd like a facelift manual saloon, either 2.2 or 2.5 ideally.

If this doesn't come off, I wont be upset, I love my car - but I just thought I'd float it as an option in case a mutually beneficial trade could be organised as I really don't need the vast size of the estate any more.

My location is Hertfordshire.

Cheers,
James

Whoops! Knew I'd forget something, it's a CDX. CD player, climate, nice wheels, fogs (new bulbs needed) etc. Cloth interior.

Cheers
James

Okay, after struggling to find a parking space in three different locations today, this is deffo FOR TRADE!

All saloons considered!  Would even consider a Vectra!

Mods:  I'd like to change the topic of this thread, but can't see how.  Alternatively, can you delete it and i'll start afresh?

Ta,
James

As for the parking problem.
I drive both saloon and estate, and much prefer the estate when it comes to parking. When reversing at least you can see were the back end is so to speak, no boot/backend projecting.
Apart from that no real differences really when finding a space to park, maybe you have narrow parking spaces down south ;D

Car sound good, but get those pics up, it will help to sell it :y

Now on ebay, if I sell this I can be a cash buyer for a Saloon!  It's a buy it now thing though, not an auction - am in no rush as its a lovely car!
