Of course! Service history book fully stamped up. JamesCDXV6 who did the service on it was mightily impressed with its condition too. If it werent for my Merc coming back from the bodyshop sooner than expected I would have been keeping her.

The last owner advised she was originally purchased for a Director of IBM which would make sense to me. Have been in two minds as to whether to sell her, but cant justify having too many cars as I already have a Porsche 924 Carrera GT in my garage, an old BMW convertible, my big daddy Merc 420 Coupe, and the missus's Merc 300SL.

Price I think is very reasonable considering some of the other equivalent motors I have seen up for sale.

Forgot to mention, we just had the water expansion tank replaced as the temperature sensor (which comes as part of the tank) was on the blink. I cant believe how little interest I have had in this car. What is happening? It isnt just here, I listed her on Ebay and the highest bid wasn't even close. I've even had muppets from Ebay contacting me offering me £1500 for it! Must be the financial climate right now.

Am really torn as my Mercedes had an LPG conversion 2years ago by The Greenfuel company who are the biggest LPG specialists in the UK. It was done in Bath and they badly damaged my dashboard. It took me a year and a lot of agro with them before getting their insurers involved and the car going in for full dashboard replacement. Wont bore you too much with the detail but they sent out Mr Botch initially who tried to glue my dashboard and in the process he broke my electric seat! I have had to wait a further 8mths for all the parts to come in from Mercedes BUT, the car will be ready next week, and I cant justify keeping the Mig too. One of them will have to go as I have 3 other cars excluding the missus's cars. I've been without the Merc for nearly 2yrs now and with it being LPG'd it is very economical. I start the Omega every few days though and when I took it for a run yesterday, it put a huge grin on my face.

It's a bit like being chatted up by Salma Hayek AND Monica Bellucci, but only having space in your car for 1!

Still, I shouldnt complain if I am considering that to be a difficult situation. If she doesnt sell, using the analogy above I will have to try and squeeze Salma AND Monica into the passenger seat...

To be honest mate,i cant see you getting near 2.5k for it... crap as that may be,it just seems to be the way of the Omega
It looks a stunning motor, but they are just not worth anything cash wise....a real shame

I know what your saying but i reckon 1500 quid is probabaly more like it  :(
You might get lucky and find someone willing to pay what your asking but if i were you i'd keep it,its worth more to you than it ever will be as a sale

 :( :(

Cheers dude, understood, however I cant agree with the value being near the £1.5k mark, not by a long stretch. Have had a number of PMs from others saying its a good price and to keep it advertised! We have friends in the trade who are also advising us to reduce no further, so I may get her in to a garage on a sale or return basis. I have had plenty of offers for part exchanges which would equate to the £2.5k value, but I need the space so cant take another car. Like I said it must be the financial climate right now as most people are hard up on cash.

Cheers though.  8-)

Cheers mate, you are of course spot on, my mistake. We bought the temperature sensors mistakenly as they were not needed, and got a refund on them when we bought the expansion tank and level sensor  ;)  8-)

To be honest mate not much is selling at the moment, it's a tricky time because of the financial situation. The only stuff ive got selling at the moment is stuff under £1000, it is flying out the door at the mo.

Thanks guys, yep I reckon it's just that people are finding £2.5k a stretch regardless. Will just have to sit tight and wait for the right person who has some readies. Boy I feel sorry for the trade, they must be really screwed. What with the scrappage scheme robbing the country of thousands of usable cars, and then the credit crisis, plus thousands more cars being shipped to the eastern block, there arent as many cheapy cars around, and so prices are a bit higher yet people cant always afford em.

I wont get on my soap box about the car scrappage 'scheme'...am having to hold myself back!  >:( :( >:( At least it's finished now!

You want to try being in the trade mate, it's not fun at the moment. Only cheap cars meaning profit is less are selling.

Can quite understand. Must be very frustrating.

Well, am on holiday on Thursday for a few weeks, was hoping to sell before I go but its not looking likely. Will just have to keep her if that's the case. My missus loves her so she wont go homeless! Thanks all of you for the comments etc.

No thread bumping (posting on a thread, purely to get it to back to top of the list). :)
