Title: Omega wanted
Post by: M on 08 March 2011, 18:44:23
HI all

Well, today me and my dad spent the whole day driving around Manchester looking at Omegas and Lagunas and a Passat too but found nothing of the standard I want.

If anyone has a very clean, honest Omega (ideally 2.2CD auto) on as late a plate as possible then please let me know.

Must have no interior/exterior damage, no oil leaks, no water loss, no smoke from exhaust.

Service history a must plus cambelt change records.

Dont mind what colour, or whether estate or saloon, but must have long MOT and ideally tax too

Budget is ideally £1500 but can go to £1750 for the right car.

Blimey!  :)

I know you had a 2.6 before but I don't think you'll gain much in the way of fuel savings from a 2.2, the omega is a heavy car unlike modern Passats and Lagunas with plastic wings etc.

Might be worth looking at Omega's that have already been LPG'd, there's usually a couple on Autotrader.

Eh? He is asking £1,995 or nearest offer?

Can't say for sure, but I would expect he would like an offer of £1750  :y

In fairness, it was much less than what your original post has stated you're willing to pay for the "right" car

But a 2.2CD is the right car mate

Can make a final offer of £1550 for your 2.6 MV6 provided it's as clean and genuine as it looks in the pics and provided the rockers are done

Failing that's it's looking like it's going to be a Skoda Superb

£1550 just isnt enough i'm afraid

you will find a 2.2 CD late reg'd for the price you want to pay i'm quite sure, i suppose it depends on how soon you need it

No, well spotted, it isnt, but there was no suitable Omega to be had

Lovely car, great value, very well built, great reliabillity (apparently) and so smooth on the motorway

In some ways its like the Omega in that its a big car thats cheap to buy and run

typically today, a 2.2CD has appeared on ebay on a 53 plate for £1200

apart from 144,000 miles it looks to be pretty good

Yeah I noticed that too, far too many miles for me...

Really happy with the Skoda though to be honest.
