If you really want/need to use a stabiliser, what about an Al-ko hitch type that clamp onto the ball?
I've towed a caravan miles without any kind of stabiliser, it's only cos this 'van came with an Al-ko that I now use one. :y

How much????  :o IMHO you'd be better off putting that money towards an Al-ko type.

Just use it for peace of mind really... I'm not too bothered but if anyone else needs to tow the van (due to some unfortunate accident ::) ::)) then it may help them. I've towed the current one both with and without and TBH the biggest improvement is in the pitching of it as I live in an area where it seems impossible to surface a road smoothly ::) ::) ::)

I can't have an Al-Ko one without a bit of a headache as I also tow other trailers, including hired ones like this weekend when I'll be towing both the Van and a hired Trailer in quick succession, which have greased couplings :y :y :y
