Both my nearside prefacelift Irscher 17" MV6 wheels are toast after I whacked the biggest pothole known to man at the edge of a narrow country road.
Ideally I'm after a pair of these wheels, cosmetics not important as long as they're round. Once I have a full set again I plan to get em all powder coated black, just for a change, which is why I don't mind if the replacements are a bit scruffy. Can anyone help? Tyres not important as mine are still intact.
I took the buckled ones to a refurbisher today and the guy said they'd been twisted from the hub outwards and couldn't be straightened out. Here's the worse of the two.....

imho can be corrected..needs a bit heating first..
the originals on the miggy had a 5 cm fracture ..and they filled the fracture by welding..Now I use them in winter..

That is a nasty whack, and as your man has already said they are probably not repairable of they are out of shape in the spokes - not as simple as straightening the rim out...
Good luck with your hunt!

Can't you try suing the Local Authority?
-
Ohh, Alex, what have you been doing!?!
I saw a Vectra C with those alloys the other day. Lovely nick, I considered following him....I had a wheelbrace in the boot, but no bricks to but under the wishbones....
Actually, in all honesty, everyone's suing their local council these days, so might well be worth it.

I hit a huge pot hole in Hemel Hempstead 2 years ago in my Mazda 6. Obliterated 2 wheels/tyres, front wishbone and knocked the alignment to b*gg*ry. Total bill from Mazda was knocking on the door of £1500.
Local council said the road had been checked within the time limit their guidelines recommend and showed me proof, I hit it in November, the road had been checked in May.
It was a company car so it didn't worry me too much about the cost, but the principal is what mattered. I sent the council only 2 more letters before they did a complete U turn and not only paid for the car but also the hire car I had to use whilst mine was off the road.
Guess what im saying is 'if you don't ask, you don't get'!!!!!
Glad I had the wife in the car, no one would have believed I was doing less than 30 ;D

i have a slightly buckled mv6 wheel if anybody wants it for 15 quid lol, i took the tyre off and i'v only got the one so hence 15 quid

They say that claims against councils for pothole damage to vehicles cost more than the repairs to the roads.
Claim against them, take photo evidence of the hole before though. They're crafty buggers ;)
