Title: WANTED - Wheel for Facelift Elite
Post by: Alex W on 25 October 2009, 14:32:33
I need a road wheel to replace one buckled in an argument with a kerb. See http://www.omegaowners.com/forum/YaBB.pl?num=1255358837/0#0

Mine is only very slighly buckled so it will need to be perfect to be worthwhile.

I'm in Northants and can collect within reasonable distance.

Thanks in advance

There was a single wheel on eBay recently!

now where was it?  :-/

FOUND IT!   :y  :y  :y

It didn't sell at £40 but it's a bit far from you Alex, but OOF or ABS could likely get it down from North of the border.

I bought this wheel, I had a damaged one as well - paid 40 quid for it on a buy-it-now when my phone bid failed. I had to arrange to send a courier to collect it as the seller refused to post it though. I only saw it when it was posted by somebody on here  :y

No, you've probably got the 17" Imi's, these are 17s from the very last of the Elites and Mv6s made (and the 2.2 Sports)  :y

May have Pic somewhere, Chris.

To be quite honest Andy I can't see any buckling at all. The car drives fine, no steering shake at all.

When I had some new tyres fitted last week I asked them to check the wheel after my argument with the kerb and they said its "slightly buckled".

This thread arose because I asked on the main forum whether I should bother going to WIM for wheel alignment while I have a "buckled" wheel, now I come to think about it no-one actually answered that question it was just suggested that I look for a replacement wheel here.

Perhaps I should just email WIM and see what they say. What do you think?

Are there no proper alloy wheel specialists local to you for a 2nd opinion? When I buckled a X-spoke alloy on my Senator, there was no doubt it was buckled. Spinning it on a large bearing with a clock/dti on it just confirmed it was.  :'(
