What do you reckon to this price.

Sounds about right for a dealer price. Is it my imagination or does the suspension at the rear look a bit high :-/
-
I paid £7k for my 2.2 CD 2001 three years ago. This is 2 years newer, has leather, 2.6V6 and a CDX. And 12 months warranty.
If I had £6.5k burning a hole in my pocket I would buy it tomorrow.

What do you think it would be like for towing the caravan, I have heard so many stories about auto gearboxes not being able to cope, overheating etc whilst towing, would it need an extra cooler on there or is the one fitted sufficiant.

I tow my 5 berth van with the 2.2 with no problems at all. Most of my towing is on the roads around Cornwall so no easy motorway cruising.
The auto is fantastic, as usual, when you're in traffic. The only time I towed with a manual was when I borrowed a Renault Espace to collect the van from Exeter. The A30 was a nightmare that day and I could really feel the clutch heating up after 20 mins of stop start queuing. I never get overheating in the Omega.
In my opinion, the auto is far superior to a manual for towing, smooth changes and stress free driving.
Go for it. :) :)

Be interesting to see what he offers for mine in part ex, I have been looking for a while now and I am in a tither on what to do, my miggy has been a trouble free car, diesel, good on fuel, i have fitted many extras on her as she is only a GLS, I just fancy a bit more power and leather.
I suppose i need to drive the CDX and go from there
:-/ :-/
-
Yeah the reason I wanna change is because mine's a GLS, but i really want the bose sound system, so Elite is the answer for me!
-
It would make a great tow car - auto box on a 2.6 would be a dream :)

Only downside of Bose system is amount of room it takes in boot. It doesn't look like much, until you go to fill the boot....

Get one of these Miggy it beats Bose sound any day..

Miggy, I think that dealer is a tad expensive. It took me a while, but I found an 2002 2.6CD, leather interior, with just 18k on the clock for £3995. Yes, it was a bargain, and the car you are looking at is a CDX, but that's a huge difference in price.

That was a good buy, did you get it private or dealer, that price and milage I would say you got it private.
-
No, I got it from a dealer. Although, it has to be said that a) he put the ad up before he realised the true mileage and, after I had spoken to him he withdrew the ad, but was gentlemanly enough to honour my initial offer and b) there was no paperwork as it was a repossession.
He actually said he was hoping I wouldn't buy it as he would put the ad back in at £1k more, but I think it would still be a steal even at £4995. If you look at it, it has definitely only done the 18k (well, 19k now), despite the lack of paperwork. Mind you, the snails and cobwebs in the engine bay have meant some heavy cleaning!
There are bargains out there. My advice is to keep looking! :y
