Post by: Ian_D on 07 November 2009, 10:33:12
Breaking Omega CDX Estate in Black.

1998 so its the minifacelift.

Its a 2.5 V6 (or was!) Auto, with around ONLY 70k on the clock!!!

Just about all parts are available, however I've robbed the engine for one of my projects!  ;D

PM me for any bits, I can either post or you can collect!  :y Will get pics up later...

I might well be interested in some bits of this shortly, I've got the car in for the MOT next wednesday, hoping it passes without prob's obviously. if it does I'll be after a few bits, or maybe if it doesn't lol.

What are the doors and door bump strips like? has it got a black interior, dash etc, mainly the light switch I want with both front and rear foglight switches and warning bell, I think I read somewhere on here they don't all have the lights on warning? My offside rear door bumper strip needs replacing, usual corner piece gone, if they can be re-fitted?

Good look with your car for Wed's. :y

I've uploaded a few pics which shows colour of dash etc.

Not sure on the bump strips if im honest - I think they will be a bit of a pig to remove without damaging them (however I could be wrong??) - Will check condition and let you know asap.

Headlight switch has both front + rear fog buttons on them, however I dont know about the lights on buzzer.

I am looking for a non return valve for the air intake system (the bit that the guy on the cambelt DVD tells you to suck and blow through to check).

Do you have one to fit a 3.0 facelift?

I would think so yes. I assume its the little black square box with two vac pipes? And not the air injection into the exhausts (bigish metal pipe)?

It is attached to a metal pipe that runs along the front of the engine. Screws onto the pipe you have to remove to get to the cambelt.

Exhaust, from cats back - what's it like, how much and will it fit a facelift 2.6?

If yours is good and fits mine, then might pop round one day and snaffle it! ;)

Could do with a jack too, and maybe a couple of little bits and bats...........

As far as i know its fine.

Had a quick look at the exhast for you. From cats back it all looks about average to me. Upto you. (I will take camera with me next time I go if you want!)

Biggest problem collecting the bits in person, is that the Omega is at my mates mothers house! (we are using the engine and a few other bits for a kitcar idea you see! :P)

I will try and get round there tomorrow night. If the arm is ok, I will remove it for you, and then you can either bob round to mine for it, or I could even drop it off as I've got to nip over to Acomb one eve this week anyway (seem to think you live in Acomb?? ::))
