As the title says... would like AR35 autobox with TD bellhousing and torque convertor for the project i'm working on. I have a manual box and all the bits to do a conversion if that works ok. DVLA have decided (medical grounds) that I can only drive an auto, so this is reasonably urgent.
I can manage with just the bell housing and torque convertor and transfer it on to my own AR25 box, but lord knows how long that will last with a TD strapped to it.
Thanks

The only cars that came with suitable bellhousing and TC are 2.5TD Omegas.
All TDs came with AR25, so should last. Obviously, a AR35 will be stronger though, and give scope for chipping the car for better drivability

Kin ell, changing a 2.6V6 into a 2.5TD auto is going to be a challenge!

So it appears, the worse bit appears to be the wiring, although investigating the looms so far it appears that the V6 harness is far more complicated than the TD one; as I have a U25TD there is no MAF sensor to worry about to start with. I certainly am not expecting plug and play, but I don't envisage too many problems, after all I have a complete doner car to play with. I expect that getting issues like getting the trip computer display to talk to the ECU and the climate control to work correctly. Traction Control might be a complete mare, but who needs that ?? Getting the engine in and running should be straight forward (ish) though.
I agree that the AR25 will be fine and I have one of those attached to the V6, hence the real need for a bellhousing and TC to fit the AR25 to the TD engine and that can come with a knackered autobox for all i care
I'll post pictures of the fun if you like in the "Gallery"

I thought the last batch of 2.5TD's came with AR35's, but I will bow to superior knowledge ;) Certainly I will deal with the issue of chipping and AR35's when I actually get the thing running ::)

This is still needed and getting close to being urgent now, so if anyone hears/knows of one please get in touch. :) :)

Suspect this is a V6 autobox ??? If so then sadly of no use to me, the bellhousing to mate to a TD is different, and the torque convertor also so I'm led to believe, but thanks for the offer.

No probs pal so how do you make the AR 35 fit the diesel then

You use the torque converter and bellhousing from the diesel engine, (the original one) and mate that to the AR25/35 gearbox, as they are different to the petrol models. :y
