Thought ir was just the cats that were double skinned.

My stainless system is from cat back. Still prefer the original exhaust

Sorry, will say what I should have said.
Thought it was the cats only that were double skinned, and not the rest of the system.

The original system was double skinned, the middle sections and back box were double skinned.
That's where the problem now arises, if you then need to replace the system, VX no longer produce the original system, only a single skinned system which is nowhere near as good as the original.
Of the aftermarket single skinned systems, eternalcar proves to be the best.
I would have a double skinned original system over anything else on offer.

I have a stainless backbox but it's only got 1 inlet pipe so will reduce performance somewhat even if it does sounds lovely..

Being new to omegas, is the double skinned thing all about comfort as in how quiet they were?
Or is it some crazy heat / conduction / performance related thing. As the Ascona with the 3.0 runs a custom stainless system with headers but, my god its loud. My MV6 is on a generic system and is just starting to blow near the front somewhere, so this was a good thread to see crop up.
