Title: Thanks to MDTM
Post by: TheBoy on 04 August 2007, 21:16:37
For taking the time today, despite having (or at least should have had) a decent hangover, to do a couple of little jobs I was having trouble with on tractor.

Bumper stays on now :)

We are definately losing coolant somewhere, and its not appearing to leak :(

And the mod you made has improved economy significantly on way home (which I did in 1hr 5m, and yet average consumption was increasing all the time).

Thank you :y

Your welcome as always.

And now there is a Tech 2 in Nottingham.......and I have to say that the upgrade to version 3 software on a facelift climate setup is VERY worthwhile!

Would a 2003 have v3?  :-/

What difference does it make?

Haven't been able to get that again.  I wonder, if under the high pressure that builds up, if the rear coolant hose may weep?

The climate seems much more controlled and less intrusive, it runs at lower fan speeds for more of the time.

LOL, didn't take you long to 'practice' - I assume by now, every single system on all cars on the drive are at the very latest versions ;D

If you're really bored, get some live data downloaded to PC to use as a reference (see snapshot stuff). And send them to me ;D

Aye, had that done at a local dealers, not expecting to get near enough to you to do it.
£1 to a penny they didn't check any others though.

Also interested to know if the speedo reads the same constant 3mph high like the CDX?

As it should imo.....slower air flow = colder air.

Just thought id see if cheapo tech2 could read version number......no it carnt..... but can read trouble codes

I got 32 not present ....Left solar sensor low input
34 present..........Right solar sensor low input

Is this the sun sensor? I thought there was only the one, in the middle of the dash  :-/

The facelift has a twin sensor setup so it can sense sun direction........have you been covering it up with an A to Z?

Yep constant 3mph high......although interestingly, the ECU complained of not having the index programmed so I had to put new firmware on it and a programme index....The Boy, whats the programme index on your MV6 on the instruments?

Std 17" wheels, speedo in mph, Code Index 007

For Instrument, all mph speedos are 007, with exception of 225/55/16, which is 008

;D How did you guess......yeah sometimes i do (the one in the centre of the dash)......it slows the blower fans down if left on auto

Wheres the other one?

I assume thats why i have the error codes then?

The two sensors are in the same pod.

ahhh rite cheers  :y.....i spent 20mins earlier.....whilst giving it a vac out and wipe down looking for another sensor  ::)

Soooo.....not sure i understand.....if there were two seperate sensors i could see why i am getting the error codes (ie one sensor can sense the sun and the other carnt....so assumes a duff sensor)

So if A 2 Z is covering up both sensors.....surely it just assumes sun isnt shining and nothing wrong with the sensors??  :-/ or am i missing summat here  :-/

I get a code 32 from my climate with a cheapo tech 2. Maybe it's a quirk of the cheapo Tech 2? Or maybe there's a procedure to be followed - i.e. test it in the dark or something?

I like the sound of the upgrade though. I am constantly turning the fan speed down on mine. It seems to go to full fan speed any time there's a 1 degree difference between actual and set temperature  >:(
