Title: Project 13 update
Post by: RonaldMcBurger on 03 September 2006, 16:58:28
Well, where do I begin? This is the dirtiest and worst kept Omega I have seen - bar none!

There are screws, nuts and bolts strewn throughout the car. The scuttle is broken and hanging on by fresh air, the plenum has been off recently, but not put back on correctly, there is filth and dirt everywhere, every part of the car is scratched, dented or broken.

To help visualise this mess take a butchers at these:

First things first, mecahnics. Engine is throwing oil out the passenger side rocker because there is no gasket in there. Also passenger side manifold blowing. I still think a new engine and box is possible, but I have to consider whether it is justified.

I could get it all running right(ish) and give it agood clean, then sell it on. Or spend a lot more tiome and effort and do it right. Mmmmm. We'll see, there is no rush.

No doubt, all will be revealed shortly, eh!, RMB.

Anyway, I'm sure you will make the right decision. [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

This is my guess!  ::)

That pic of the door Ron with the scratches.....is a problem when using magnetic door stickers.....i use them on mine and you have to be carefull with them.....they will scratch the door badly if you plonk them on and then try to adjust them.....i take them completely off and place on again to correct straightness etc

I can second this!  Working nights at a petrol station, you see quite a trend and difference between drivers...

young ones & those who drive like a fool, there always dirty, smokey, screwed...

then you get those who park up, fill, and spend at least half an hour cleaning the cabs each night!

From the pictures it seems more like the car has been left with the windows down either in a body shop or near a dusty road... If it was standing for a while before being sold, it may have gathered this at the dealer's/scrappie etc. So this may not be a simple case of owner neglect...

I used to get discounts at the local car wash, apparently they had a special rate for taxi's and mincabs, and driving a black Omega in their mind I seem to fall into this category... probably what you call 'VIP minicabs' which means you get something better than an ancient Toyota Camry and the driver wears a tie and actually opens the door for you. Just short of a 'proper' Limo though. Don't know if it is a bad thing or a good thing? :o

The entire interior of the car is covered with what appears to be a generous layer of.......dandruff!

Maybe the previous owner was an avid headbanging rocker?

that is really really odd...

1 ciggy was from the front tray on a W Reg Gls Faclift, the other was from a pre-facelift V6.

Very strange it did't fit....

If i see anymore i'll pop them over to ya.
