Well i'm not too short of cash, although i have an old Omega i would like to get rid of as it's taking up space on my drive and hurting my bank account... :(
I wonder if anyone could stick a rough figure on my motor because i don't have a clue what it's worth??
The car is a w plate, silver 2.0 GLS facelift with 156k on the clock.
It's on LPG, with LPGA certificate. Equiv 55+MPG, 80ltr tank behind rear seats.
160k GM cambelt kit just fitted with full service, ahead of schedule be a few miles.
x4 new tyres (facelift CDX alloys)
6months tax/12 mot
New GM back box
Recent painted front bumper as to tidy it up a little.
Interior is pretty much like new, with a couple of very minor, age related scuffs.
Drives very wel and runs like new with recent HT leads and plugs. Running on LPG is no different to the peformance of petrol.
I looked in Parkers and with 156k on the clock it would seem it's only worth £1 if i'm lucky, but this has LPG...? So i guess i could add a few quid?
I think M_DTM said i should stick it in the autotrader for £2 but I was driving my MV6 at the time and was worried he thought i should put my MV6 in for £2? :'(
Please let me know you thoughts on this as i only trust the judgement of my fellow OOF members.
Cheers
Marc

with the LPG its worth more in parts im afraid - 160k on a 2litres is a lot for a buyer to pay out on... :(

Silver
Call it a tenner and it's a deal! :o
I was hoping that i could get £1500 out of Autotrader.... thats £1K for car and £500 fo the gas bit.

a good advert will help greatly i'm sure, the key is to use a detailed advert but without appearing to force the car on the reader

I only managed to get £1200 for my facelift 2.0ltr Auto W reg with 12600 miles on the clock so thats something to go buy.
I'll give you £25 for her and give an extra fiver for the key ;D ;D ;D
Seriously though you could try with £1400 especially as she has LPG and see what happens. :y

....that is more or less on the money and the price I would expect to go for. :)

The LPG definitely helps resale value on lower priced cars like these, as people buying cars for less than £2k are swayed by the halving in fuel costs. I suspect it isn't as appealing as it would be on a V6 though, as the higher fuel consumption means there are greater savings to be had on a V6. If it were a V6 I'd probably have had it as a newer replacement for my ageing MV6, but a 2.0 is just too slow for me -- it would drive me insane within a month, even the 3.0 seems frustratingly slow at times!
Good luck with the sale.

Start it at £2000 as it is facelift and LPG and see if you get any interest

Cheers chaps, thanks for your input!
I will stick it in the AutoTrader early next month and start it at £2k ono, i'll be happy at 1500 if i need to though.
I think there has to be a point where a car stops loosing value becuase of it's age and condition and start retaining some value if it's a roadworthy, safe, cheap runaround. At the end of the day, a car is a luxury to most, even if i have two of them! :)
I'll let you know what i get for it when i do.
Cheers
