I have been home less than 24 hours, but the Senator has now been cleaned, it was it a terrible state inside! 2 weeks of 3 blokes not giving a dam about it! ;D
But its now clean and ready for auto trader, some pictures I have just taken & will use:

I do need the code for the headunit though.... its the orginal grundig one back in now, and it wants the code
-
Tunnie, surely if your trying to get top book price for it, you should spend 15 quid on getting the radio code!

Come on Guys do Tunnie a favour buy it quick before all the Speeding tickets from Europe arrive ;D ;D

If you don't have the code and guessing that that may not be the original HU from delivery (Quite a few of those ones were swapped by the dealers due to various faults) then i'd pull the unit and see if the code is written on it.... dealers are like the computer users where I work - passwords and codes are written on post it notes and stuck on the box!
It's a no loose situation to have a look!

already looked mate, when i originally swapped it out for a replacement unit. It had vauxhall and senator written on some masking tape on the top, few other things. But no code :(
Looking at the headunit, i don't think its factory original as it has that masking tape....

I bought it off a mechanic, who knew some history of the car. But no details on the radio or anything
-
Company I menntioned should be able to do the code with just the HU serial no, no car pass etc,
think there are some free online ones as well.
-
...just wondering if he's oiled the rusty bits..... ::)

:)No messing i'd love to buy it, here come the buts:-
A Have only got a few hundred quid as my catchnet.
B I i bought it it'd have a full resto in the "knockin' shop" (which i ca'nt afford)
C Still need to sell Landrover( full galv chassis & everything @ my expense)
D Refer back a few weeks to my beware finance post.
E Fixed rate mortgage period ends sept.
Do'nt sell it to some pillock who'll run it into ground & give it away to banger racers in a years time. It's famous now-- Harry Potter--Life on Mars--James Bond--Del Boy!!!! EURO TRIP??
18 months too early, i'd love to do a full 12 month resto project but you'd wanna buy it back! :P

.... and it'll need a head gasket some time soon. Mine went at 150 000 miles, which if you ask the font of Autbahnstormer's knowledge is about when 'they all go'! :y :y ;)
-
ill offer £100
-
:)Even i can afford a wunner but i'd hate to see it raced. I used to race @ Angmering W.Sx many years ago when we all got bevvied through the day, 3 races @ a DD (if the car lasted).
If i had the Senny it would be moved in @ out the workshop til i could afford to pull it apart @ do the job properly. Not concourse but all ye who mock it would swallow your words @ mock no more!!! [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif]

Come on Tunnie, sell to me for £99 so I can use it for a banger rally next year. You know the Senny would love it...
-

You don't get enough pocket money for one of those Tony.
Regards
The Finance Department.

It would. It was an impressive high-speed cruising machine for the money.
I would love to keep it and use it for such events, but do not have the space to store it.
Be nice to see it sold to a member here!

Only, for banger rallies, it has to cost less than £100....
-
>:(It could'nt go to a Banger meet.......sacrilege!!!!!!!!!! How many Grannies, Tinas, Westies (big uns)
Rovers (real ones) & countless others met an untimely demise on an oval track?
Guilty of killing a few myself, Mk1 cavs, avengers, Triumph 2000, 2.5 (carb) Victors tended to die quickly 'cos they handled badly and were slow in comparison but tough. Same with vivas. Chevettes used to fly round with a really enjoyable drift, Hunter Minx's etc. People restore these now.
NO SENNY RACING!!!!!! :-?
-
Not that sort of banger rally!! ;D
He is referring to things like this: http://www.czechwrecks.com/index.esp

Westies (big uns)
Was going to say! I wouldn't fancy my chances in a demolition derby :o

:)I know & envy your sort of Westie. I had a Dutton Phaeton 1600GT X-flow which, in it's day was a lively little number. Best off in a non contact formula!!! [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif]

It's certainly fun. And you're right about non-contact. Saw one nearly roll over at a sprint at Goodwood last weekend from clipping a tyre wall :o
Then again, thinking about it, a couple of hours later I saw a Porker 944 do the same thing on the same tyre wall and end up on its' roof.
