Title: WANTED
Post by: car-nut on 20 August 2011, 00:29:30
Hi, I am after a set of aftermarket 17" OR 18" simple 5 spoke or 5 twin spoke alloys to fit my Omega, not MV6 wheels but wheels with thinner spokes, I don't mind if they are badly kerbed or badly scratched with or without tyres as long as they aren't buckled or cracked. I have a very limited budget. Please get in touch if you have some you want to get rid of. Cheers.

Right now I have about £50 to spend on wheels. But in a months time that will go up to £100.

 :question

I dont understand why you would want possibly damaged wheels - unless you are going to weigh them in for scrap that's it. Honestly, the scrap weight for an alloy is between £10 & £11. So, by the time you have factored in transport/petrol costs to get them will it really be worth it?

Rob, he just says they can be badly curbed or scratched so they would be refurbishable...and for a limited budget that is a reasonable expectation of what he would get for the money...doesn't seem unreasonable to me that someone would want some wheels he can at a later date sort out and use...

I only want wheels that can be refurbished to go on my Omega not for weighing in. as I can refurbish wheels myself. Or if someone has some nice wheells that there are willing to part exchange for the ones on my car now I would be interested.

Fair enough. I'm always nervous about wheels that weren't specified by the manufacturer. With GM wheels you know that the quality is good and they were designed for the Omega.

With non GM wheels you have no such guarantee and could also jeopardise your insurance should you claim.

Just my opinion of course - I'll go and mind my own businees now  :-[

As much as the Elite wheels are nice, I do think a lot of people have done that upgrade so I want to be different, and I don't want an elite omega tbh. I love my CD spec Omega. Just wanna upgrade a few little things.
