Good Day,
I've been a member here for a little under a month now, and I must admit you guys are great with sharing info. :y
I drive a '99 Cadillac Catera. Found this site via the Catera forum once I learned that the Cat is the paternal twin to the Omega 3.0V6. I am sick and tired of being sick and tired from getting snowed by the dealership and auto part stores. I've taken matters into my own hands and made the command decision to try and learn as much as I can so I can work on my Catera as much as I can.
I'll be counting heavily on you folks out there. So far, now letdowns yet. :) My first task (which may be simple to the lot of you) was replacing my crankshaft position sensor. Working in tight quarters only took about 45 minutes of my time. I was more cautious than anything else, but I had some well written instructions off the Cadillac Catera forum. It was well worth it. This one repair shop wanted to charge me $165.00 USD for the sensor alone!!! :o Whereas, I bought the device for only $45.00 brand new from the dealership and installed it myself. ;D
Me next order of business is to search for some sweet looking headlamps. The OEM version on the Cateras turn dingy yellow and are a pain in the rear end to clean. Anyone out there know where I can get a set at a decent price?
Best regards.

Welcome and rest assured, your future visits to the dealer chould only be for the odd parts. :)
Headlamps...stick a thread in General Help and we can give you plenty of options. ;)

Welcome to the site :)
Not sure if the Caterra headlights are much different to our Omega ones, but with Omegas from about 1998 onwards, a new style projector headlight was fitted, along with clear lenses - these are an improvement. HIDs/Xenons are the best available as standard on Omega, although UK laws mean retrofitting is difficult. Not sure about US rules...
