Title: Newbie
Post by: PAULCBX666666 on 30 August 2007, 18:04:54
Hi all, first time on a forum although long term Omega nut (well actually 3 Senators and now on 4th Omega nut) so you can tell what my taste in cars is. Just bought a 1999 2.5 Elite, pretty good condition although alarm has a mind of its own and goes of whenever it likes when driving (or parked) mainly in all the most built up areas when the maximum amount of people are around to stare at me driving by. Anyway I have now proved that car alarms are useless as apart from a fair few smirks nobody has stopped me to ask if the car belongs to me so as soon as I figure out how to disable it I will (permanently) Any suggestions or loan of heavy blunt instruments and a club hammer gratefully accepted.

Thanks Paul

Welcome :)

I'm not far, in Brackley, if ever you are brave enough to leave the grid  :P

Alarm - post in general help. could be bonnet switch (disconnect to prove) or the backup batts in power sounder (disconnect again to prove)

THANKS TO EVERYONE FOR THE WARM WELCOME AND HELPFUL ADVISE, I'VE HAD A LOOK AT THE BONNET SWITCH AS ADVISED AND THE ALARM HASN'T GONE OFF SINCE SO FINGERS CROSSED (ALTHOUGH IT COULD JUST BE THE FACT THAT IT'S QUIET WHERE I LIVE SO THERE'S NOT ENOUGH PEOPLE AROUND TO LAUGH AT ME TO MAKE IT WORTH IT'S WHILE GOING OFF, IT'S PROBABLY JUST WAITING FOR IT'S MOMENT FOR MAXIMUM EFFECT) ANYWAY THANKS AGAIN AND WILL BE BACK ON AGAIN SOON.....PAUL
