Than removal of a Vectra V6 Radiator :o :o
2 of us, 5 hours work, hardly any breaks, and TIS on laptop .....and the air was still blue :-X
Given up for today - the radiator is out....as is fan, air con radiator and fans hanging by a thread...
Oh and to get that far we have removed inner wing liners, front bumper, front grill, front crossmember..... and god knows how many connectors...im really worried about putting it back together...
Beer time, and also time to nurse my numerous cuts, space is of a premium in that engine bay :-/
-
Yep....its a strip everything forward of the engine job...
There are more difficult jobs....try a clutch on a front wheel drive VAG diesel car....

There are more difficult jobs....try a clutch on a front wheel drive VAG diesel car....
If it anything like an Astra ...... changing the gearbox the other week on my diseasal Astra was a tw4t of a job. The whole subframe needs lowering to get the bugger out. One more reason for 2 pedals!!! ;D ;D

VW quote 12 hours for a clutch....and independents as a result wont touch them!

:o :o :o So you're looking at around £600/700 in labour alone + the parts!!!
Not even I (who dragged a cam belt change out over a week end :-[) took that long! And that included a trip to near CapnZok for another clutch plate - that I didn't really need :( - I didn't even have the luxury of a 4 post lift and so was crawling under the car on a crawler board :(

I have to agree here... when it comes to maintenance, you won't find an easier job than working on Noddy's car :D

After two weeks in the caravan, I can tell you that cleaning the lip seal on a Thetford chemical toilet without getting sh*t under your finger nails is more difficult. Yucchhh >:(

Ours is getting a bit past it. If it isn't cleaned it doesn't seal properly. Should really replace it but I am such a tight a*sed git that I am sure I can get a couple more seasons out of it. :)

The seal seems to cope fine - I just lubricate it begining and end of season
