Just bought a rather nice Omega estate on an 03 plate. Never owned one before but had a decent read on the forum last few days. Seems a nice friendly place with some good advice.
Look forward to stopping by in the future.

Hi and welcome aboard Terry. :y You've got yourself one of the late models there - pretty sure they stopped making them shortly after 03.

Thanks for the welcome everyone. :) For those that are interested, my car is the 2.2CDTi version and its an 03 which is (I think) one of the last produced. It comes with FSH, bills and is almost immaculate. Having gome from Cavaliers to Vectras Ive now arrived at the Omega. Wanted to try a diesel, my last Vectra was a 2.5V6 a flying machine for sure, trouble was the need for "in flight" refuelling! :o
Im well impressed so far, really nice to drive, getting better than 40mpg just mooching around, going on a longer ride this weekend so hopefully Ill improve that. THe equipment level is good too, I love the climate controls. :y

"How do you find the performance?"
Well, to answer James V6CDX's question, its really hard so far, Ive only had the car for a week so far and Ive not had chance to get away anywhere on a run longer than to work and back (about 12 miles).
Having said that, its nowhere close to the V6 Vectra I had, but I never expected it to be, its also not using anywhere near as much fuel. Its really unusual to see the fuel gauge not dropping like a stone with each squeeze on the pedal. I bought it for a totally different role, I use my car to go fishing, to take my kayaks, to take the wife and our dog hill walking, and I load up all my military kit in there too. I wanted a big comfy bus that would be a multi role vehicle with plenty of space and a significant improvement in fuel. So far its ticked all those boxes and I'm well pleased with it.
It takes off nicely and goes really well, 1st gear is very short (if thats the right description?) but 2nd, 3rd etc go on forever and she keep booming away accellerating. The most striking difference though is probably my perception of size, it seems massive and the roads that I threw the Vectra round now seem ever so narrow! Gaps that I used to happily slide through now feel much smaller.
But so far so good, I feel like Ive made a great buy.
