Title: Headgasket set

When you buy a headgasket set for the V6 do you get both banks or just 1??? Also do you have to change the headbolts on the V6??

It depends where you buy the kit from......the ebay ones...yes, you get both banks.

And contrary to popular belief.......pretty much every engine built in the last 30 years has required new head bolts on re-assembly so yes, you need new bolts but, buy good ones as the cheap ones are bloody awful!

Cheers Marks_DTM, do you know of a good Mail order place for the parts, or recommend some good brands. Or shall i just shop around???

I've had lots of 3.0v6 head sets Ebay seller Trechii, always there next day and good quality (fai) gaskets. If funds permit... Do use genuine manifold and cam gaskets though...

Cheers James ( i have PM'd you ;)) Have you heard of Elring as a make from Germany?? I would prefer FAI as i know there stuff is pretty good especially suspension parts as it's part of Bilstein :y

Right.....you want Elring head gaskets as they are OEM.....

I would recommend emailing a seller and asking for head gaskets, stem seals (if re-building), front pipe to manifold seals, cam seals, coolant bridge seals and er, thats about it.......the rest of the items in the kits are pretty useless. I have used this seller who will supply the small set of parts above at a good price:

You want:

Genuine exhaust manifold gaskets, coolant bridge seals, coolant pipe to block seal, cam cover gaskets and O rings plus some black and green sealent.

Then find some FAI or BGA head bolts.
