Howdy all !! Thought I had better join after looking through your very useful questions and answer pages Very useful and very informative and dare I say more helpfull than some of the so called technicians at Vauxhall main dealers!
I have a 2.0Ltr GLS which I purchased in July as a replacement for my weary old XJ6 which had to go the the grate scrap yard in the sky :'(
The Omega had only 42k on the clock 3 owners from new and a full service history to boot! and to be quite honest it has been a good buy as I had not done any research on Omega's it was an impulse buy 'cos I needed a motor!
Had a diagnostic check done as it keeps dying at low rev's The result was the Air Volume meter on the read-out but the guy at Autolube told me that there was most probibly other contributing factors than that. He showed me the plug resesess were full of oil and that the cambox gasket was leaking and the large breather pipe was goosed. He recommed me to invest in a new gasket not forgetting the 'O' ring's new set of plugs and leads. He told me to clear out all the oil from the plug recesses before removing the plugs as to much oil in the cylinders will nacker the CAT. He concluded in telling me to clean out the inlet tract and butterfly valve as this could have some effect on the problem. That all done I still have the same problem so have invested in a new (replacement) air flow meter so will keep you posted on the progress. Enough of my gibberings so I will bid you good night TTFN

Hi All, so nice to get such a good response, are you all that friendly? honest!
Well I changed the Mass flow meter today and all apears to work well. It doesn't cut out at low revs although the idle speet is a little too high about 1k so I think there is still alittle bit more tinkering to do!
Just fitted a Sat Nav today. It was one devil of a job to find a perminant live cable. I had to go to the fuse box and pick one up from there and route it round to the back of the glove box.
Have to say the SatNav I have bought has a massive 7'' screen and sits perfect in the open bottom glove box lid. It is a PLENIO with touch screen control. To get more info if you are thinking of getting one go to www.thechameleongroup.com to get more info. As this is my first venture into SATNAV I really didn't want a small screen and this one fitted the bill and it is one of the cheapest on the market. If you are interested in one make him an offer on Ebay you will be surprised how cheap you can get one my bid was £80 and I won it!!!!
No more for now will touch base tomorrow.
