Hi,
Well after over 3 and a half years of being trapped in a 1.2 8v Corsa I've finally managed to get the right lifestyle to buy the Blue Elite that's parked up the road. And despite knowing everything that an Elite is kitted with (most recent car didn't even have a rev counter), I'm still absolutely blown away at the value for money relating to the kit-count. I've been an Omega owner for 1 week now and have driven London inside out since (and found a few more petrol stations).
Seriously, anyone who thinks they're expensive to run should always bear in mind the equivalent 5 series or A6 purchase costs and pat themselves on the back knowing they got a bloody bargain.
Mine's a looker on a 2000 plate with what seems like every conceivable extra, and if it cements my adoration, EVERYONE who has sat in it so far has had to remark that it's a hell of a lot more than they were expecting... every critic's a badge snob!
Sorry to go on guys, on my first posting, but I'm chuffed.
Plus I've been looking on this site for a long time using the buyers guides to bag the bargain in the first place - so belayed thanks.

Welcome to the forum mate, and congratulations on finally owning a proper car ;D
I bought my first Omega (after a string of Carltons) about a month ago, and like you I love it.
When you get time you must post a photo of your pride and joy!

Well done matey. I too like Richard have had some Carltons before my Mig. I've always liked Vaux's & you're right about badge snobbery/snubbery. Give me the Griffin over a blue & white circle any time :y
PS. Welcome to the OOF too ;)

As another new elite owner I certainly agree about the badge snobbery. From the inside looking out it's easily as good as any other big executive saloon, but a quarter of the price. Which is nice.
Everyone who's sat in mine so far has commented on the level of spec, and then let themselves down by adding "for a Vauxhall".

Hi and welcome to the forum :y
I've often wondered if the running costs for the 'snob brands' was comparable to a mig :-/
