hi have just joined what looks like a fantastic club and look forward to getting to know everyone and there cars but i am yet to buy an omega :( i had one a few years back was a basic 2.0 8v but now after a long list of vuxhalls i want to relax in a nice big comfy omega again i have been thinking about buying the 2.5 td saloon (one with bmw engine) due to riseing fuel prices and me doing alot of miles for work so has anyone got one of these omegas and if so are they any good? thanks in advance #ash# :y

Hello & Welcome :y
The BMW'ed Omega probably isnt the most respected to be honest, but people with more knowledge will advise you further.
It is detuned, although chipping restores this, but if auto then a stronger gearbox is needed. Think it also needs very frequent oil changes.

A warm welcome Ash.
They do a 2.2DTi if your budget will stretch that far. I've one, it's very good on fuel & picks up well at cruizing speeds, because it's a torquey diesel. So far a very reliable unit too :y
Mine was a little flat when i first got her, but after some help from M,DTM & a re-map, she now goes very well 8-)
