John Argraig pointed me here as im looking for a cheap Omega while I rebuild my 200sx ( I know I know lol)
Im preferably after a V6 either 2.5 or 3.0 not fussed either way but will consider a 2.0 if pushed, if its an estate all the better but my budget is £500 as my dad will be paying for it as im waiting for an insurance payout and a payrise to come through. it MUST have MOT past JULY.
I need a big car as im going on holiday in july and taking the wife, my sister in law, an 11 year old nephew and a 9 month old baby so it goeswithout saying that the car needs to be sound.
Can anyone of this freindly bunch help me out please?
Edit :- Should add im Reading Berkshire but will possibly travel for the right car.

Hello and a warm welcome! :y
On the question of buying a 2.5 or 3.0 Omega thats 'sound' with an MOT 'past July' for a budget of just £500 may be asking a lot. :-? Ones being sold for breaking or repair can be as much as this! It will in anycase be pre-facelift and probably even pre-1996, so getting on a bit!
No doubt others more qualified than me will advise you accordingly. :y

Wow thanks for the warm welcome.
Went to see one tonite.
Nice car 2.5V6 CD spec all went well and the car was very reasonable for the money, drove well but sadly when I got back there was some smoke / steam coming from the drivers side of the bonnet. Due toa broken bonnet release it took a few minutes to get the bonnet open and by that time I couldnt see where it was coming from. The owner said that when the CATS get blocked (which he has removed due to one getting blocked) it split a couple of pipes on that side of the engine and that he had replaced them and so it was probably burning off some oil?
Howvere I couldnt see where it was coming from so ive decided to givve that one a miss.
Still looking though and the test drive confirmed I definately want an Omega, what a lovely car to drive.

Welcome neighbour!
it was probably camcover seals needed changing. relatively straightforward and good advice on here. Good negotiating point though.

Welcome, welcome.
If it were me, I'd forget about taking the others on Holiday and fire up the hundy 8-)
Only joking

If only you knew how much I wish I could do that but the "hundy" is staying off the road until the engine is done and the suspension completely renewed throughout.
The car I was looking at yesterday has now sold so im back on the search again.
Getting VERY frustrated that I cant seem to find one.
