Title: hi looking for help before i buy omega

hi im looking to buy a 2000  2.0gls omega .petroll, auto. ive had a test drive and runs lovely apart from tapping coming from the engine, not sure exactly where can any one advise me or shall i not buy it.

"Hello" and Welcome  :)

"tapping from an engine" is a very general term ... which area is a usefull help !! .. ask the question in "General Help" as a lot more of the mechanical experts read there than here .. :)

As to Omega problems .. there are several threads around that describe most of the common pitfalls

Hello and welcome to the forum --as has been said before -- "tapping" can have many causes and subsequent remedies ( some cheap and easy, some not so!).

If you can be more specific, post it up under General Help. Might be a good idea to have a general browse around too and pick up loads of tips.

 :)Welcome aboard. Take the mileage into account. Could be a low miler with an easy fix fault or a knackered high miler (leave alone)

Welcome, enjoy the forum and car when you get one.
If your not mechanically minded then walk away, there are alot of Omegas around to chose from ;)

Hi. A warm welcome  :) I would walk away unless it's the right money, because there's lots to choose from. If your unsure take someone who is, it could be well worth dropping a mechanic £20-£30 for piece of mind.
