hi just bought a vauxhall omega 2.6 v6 cd saloon going to london next week to pick it up and bring it back to scotland but there is a problem now my bro has told me that after 3 months of the car sitting doing nothing he got it started and left it running only to discover that there was a pool of water lying under it and this water bottle was empty does anyone know wot to do or what may of caused this thanks

Hi and welcome to the OOF
I seem to have the same problem after fitting a new exhaust manifold gasket.
It seems the leak is intermitant and is coming from the back of the OS cylinder back
I seem to remember thats where the Heater Bypass Valve (HBV) is located.
It's NOT easy to get to

but the coolant bottle is emptying for some reason and i am concerned that i am flying down on tues i have got wed and thur to get car mot and tax and get back cos i am working fri and if probs not sorted the car will be left and i am really wanting car it is in surrey

Join a recovery co and then when it losses it's fluid get them to recover it.
once it's at home you can spend time on it. :y

thanks buddy have u any thoughts on my problem the radiator is holding the water but the coolant bottle or the expansion chamber is emptying would i be safe to drive 424 miles as i have mechanics here that i would rather sort any probs for me

If you post probs / symptoms in Omega General Help ( not General chat!), there will be bods who go there often only too willing to give advice :y
