Title: Another Newbie
Post by: retrojim on 16 October 2008, 20:51:14
Hi Chaps

Another Newbie - a fresh owner of a not so fresh 1999 Omega 2.0 CDX Dual Fuel auto - a cheap buy that needs a bit of work.

The main problems are:-
Runs too cold
Oil leak
Oily looking crankcase ventilation system
Exhaust blow
Brakes don't inspire confidence :(
Rust patches on door, and the usual wheel arch rust

The LPG works though (I think!), and if I can keep her running for 4 months she's paid for herself in fuel savings. The MOT is in 3 months though, so it all depends how much I have to spend to get her through as to when break even point is.

I'll get her up on axle stands and start poking around this weekend to see what I've let my self in for. No doubt it will rain again. :)

Jim
