Just bought myself another MV6, a 2000 model in black. Drove it up from Southampton to Scotland last night - absolutely perfect.
Now, it does not have a leather interior and it has a fairly basic audio system, no nav, no integrated phone, all of which were present and correct on my 1998 model (which I still have). I'm not to bothered about the lack of toys however as its the size/engine/estate attraction for me.
So, is this some weird hybrid that the original owner could have specified or is it more likely to be a replacement interior.
Its here until they take it down as its now mine!

Hello and a very warm welcome to you! :y
Please feel free to put any questions you have in "General Chat", but lack of toys in an MV6 often indicates it is ex-police. ;)

Hello and welcome from another Fifer :y

Good afternoon, and welcome to the Forum :y :y

Welcome to OOF :y Could it be an ex-plod car?
-
Thanks all. I'm not actually new - I posted a problem with my 1998 MV6 a few months ago and thats one of the reasons I've been hunting for a new one. Its got the wandering steering/driving on marbles problem and after replacing/checking everything including the Servotronic relay at vast expense, its not fixed. So I gave up and bought another car.....
So for a while we are a 4 car family. I'm keeping any eye on the Governments 'Scrappage Proposals' like they've been doing in France and Germany where new car sales are now heading North. With a bit of luck GB will give me £2k for the 1998 and I can part ex it for a new car for the wife. Considering its worth about £300 at the moment that sounds like a good deal to me.

As said above the car is likely ex plod -- you could always swap bits over :)
Scrappage, once messed about by the UK govt will probably not seem so ennticing if and when its finds it's way over here :-/

Hi and welcome to the forum :)
The MV6 is quite a basic spec but goodies can be added when new ;)

Hi, welcome to the forum. :y

Nice looking car :y
Could it be ex-plod if it's an auto?
*edit*
Also very low mileage if it is ex-plod...

Welcome bud!

OK, deep breath - how feasible is it to swap the interiors over, given the different climate control, audio stuff, electrics in different places etc.? I would hope the basic architecture and hard fixing points would be the same underneath.
Cars are 11/98 and 03/00.
I wouldn't have the time to do it so roughly how much would a body shop charge to do the work? Any thoughts appreciated.

Welcome - doesn't look like ex-plod, mine's a civvy model and has no sat-nav or integrated phone system, just the CCR2006.
If you want a decent nav-system and more features, Kenwood do a terrific-looking model, I think it's called the DNX. Same size as standard, DVD, CD, built-in Garmin nav. It's on my list of things I want for mine in the future... only thing its missing is a phone, but I think you could get a Parrot or similar kit, and it'd still be less than swapping the interiors over.
Anything you're wondering about the MV6, drop me a PM and I'll have a look at what mine's got. :y

Is the car you bought still listed or has he removed the add. I can see a listing for a Black MV6 estate (Didnt realise they did them as Estates)
-
Hi Mate and welcome to the forum :y
-
Yes Scruntie, its still listed - the black MV6.
As I said PeteG, I'm not to bothered about the toys, its just I much prefer the rounded 'organic' interior of the '98 model. The later squared off look doesn't do it for me.
Btw, I have the parrot 8200 in my Lotus Esprit V8. Its a great piece of kit although it struggles with the voice recognition when I'm 'pressing on'. ::)
