Had a browse around this site already and what a site it is,
any problem sorted no matter what.
is that enough creeping done for one of you fine chaps out there to help me out.
i think i have nearly killed my car bless her.
the story is something like this.
once upon a time i had the mother of all rocker cover gasketts leaks both side white smoke from exhausts. the chap i bought it off must have put some cheap and nasty rubber on.
Anyway back to the story.
I successfully took it to bits. managed to get most of the oil out of the plug recesses(all 6) before taking them out and cleaning and putting back.
put everything else back together and bless her she started first time tonnes of white smoke form the excess oil.
then hey presto the engine light magically appears and as the car got warmer the lumpier the engine got till it sputter to a halt.
then it would not go above 2000 revs.
i have paper clipped it and have code 94.
which according to this site is the crank sensor.
The auto DataDisk i have suggests it could be the crank, cam, knock or water sensor.
is there a easy way to check.
have i done major damage compressing oil.
if the general= consensus it is the crank sender where is the best place to get one and how much should i expect to pay.
please help caravaning session starts soon
