Title: Help
Post by: cheshire_scooby on 27 August 2009, 14:42:52
Hi can anybody give me any advise?
just bought a 98 CDX Omega and the muti changer in the boot keeps saying CD-SAFE the radio works A ok and i am now at a loss as to why this is happening, the guy i bought it off said he disconnected the battery the other day and its been saying that since.. also this is much more important when i start it from cold it has what can only be described as a tappet sound coming from the engine it seems to sort itself out after a short run tho!!!
any help would be gratefully appreciated.
Mark

Welcome to OOF
The problem with cd safe is easily solved if you have the car pass (prersuming the cd is the original monuted in the car)
Tappet sound can be cured by several quick oil changes after a few hundred miles each.
Post in omega general help and omega electrical if you need further help regarding this.
