Hi everyone,
I am looking for some advice please in relation to the purchase of a 2000 W plate Omega 2.5i V6 CD Estate [LT].
This car is in immaculate condition, has had one previous owner, has no scratches, dents, chips or bumps, as new interior and only 42000 miles on the clock with full service history.
It is priced at £2200 at a local dealer and he took the car as a part exchange car.
Is this car as good a bargain as I think it is and should I be snapping his arm off to buy it? I have previously owned Carlton Estates and currently drive a Vectra, but have always wanted an Omega, ever since driving my bosses company car (3.0 V6 Elite, how lovely it was). I need a bigger car and have looked at other estate cars, but you do seem to get more value for your money with these Omega's.
What should I be wary of, what should I look out for when I go for a drive, how much should I be thinking of paying for the car and is this too good a bargain?
Any responses would be greatly appreciated, as I know this is the right place to be asking all these questions.
One last thing, what does the [LT] stand for?
Regards,
Rob

Hello Rob,
Welcome along :y
'LT' stands for Leather Trim.
If I were you, post in the general car chat section aswell, as more people will read that...and they'll be able to offer more help, regarding the price, what to look out for etc.
But a quick bit for you,
The cambelt MUST be changed every 40,000 miles or 4 years...that is the most important thing to check when considering buying an Omega.
And regarding price, personally I think it's rather expensive. It's only 'CD' spec, and 10 years old.
I would be looking for an Elite model, and a bit newer for that price really. The mileage is good, but I don't think it makes it worth £2200.

Henry and Josh, thank you very much for the info, I have now posted it where it should have been.
Thank you also for the info on the price and cambelt, it all helps me to make a decision.
Regards,
Rob

How do Rob. Welcome along :y :y
2.2 is a little steep & i wouldn't pay that. He's a dealer & he wants to sell more than you want to buy so make him an offer ;) He can say yes or no, then take it from there :y
