Hi all,
Been in the Vauxhall / Opel scene for some time and have been a contributor to TV as well as running a site for the humble mk2cav.
Recently a drive in Vauxhalls Lotus Carlton from the Heritage museum got me pumped for a bit of RWD fun for the winter when I don't have the Ascona C or MK2 on the road.
I've owned Omegas before, but only low mid spec ones, went out specifically for a 3.0 / 3.2 MV6 and found one and bought it when I saw it. It's on 105k and is gold. Has the typical warped cam covers (fitting vectra ones) and worn track rod end / draw bar, but apart form that and some pads it is really clean. Drivers central locking motor and check strap are knackered but I have these bits already.
The interior was filthy in it, and I've since valet'd it from top to bottom and it's immaculate now. Only problem is that I have brought the smell of fags out of the fabric, so I think a steam clean or vax is next on the list!
Anyway, hoping to be able to contribute and get involved! Cheers.
Andy

Hi Andy and welcome to the forum!
Sounds like oyu're pretty handy with the spanners so you'll be fine. Just one comment though... I doubt the Cam Covers are warped... It's very rare but the problem comes from using pattern Gaskets and not keeping the breathers cleaned out :y
There are some great guides in the Maintenance section with all the info :y

Hiya welcome to the forum :y

Thanks for the great welcome everyone. I can safely say this one wont be going anywhere 'fleet' wise! You are not wrong about the Vauxhall thing either! Branding is such a fickle mistress. Especially when there are so many great VX cars. The Omega being one of them!
Looking forward to contributing and at some point meeting some of you. It's great to know there is somewhere to come for like-minded souls as well as when I will no doubt get stumped at some point too!
