hello to all members, I am in the process of buying an average condition p reg 2.5 auto elite from a workmate. Its done 129k miles!!!, I've had a look at it and the interior isnt to bad at all the exterior has a few expected scuffs but nothing to affect reliability, my main concern is i really dont know what to look for in regards to wear n tear of the engine and main parts etc. I plan to use the car to commute from portsmouth to sunderland every 2 weeks(360mile 1 way) The cost of the car is £600. Is this a decent buy or am i going to expect to be dipping in my not so full pockets for continous reapairs. The car was previously owned buy a college lecturer who used his students to repair all the brake lines and pads, oil and air changes etc. Is there any advice or pointers i should look for before its to late, Many thanks bulleed ;)

Hiya , welcome to the forum .
Omega's you have to love 'em and like most car of that age will need money spent at some time.
So buy cheap and spend on a good service. Like the man said " haggle" a bit ;) :) ::) :y

Hi & welcome along :y :y
I take it the 2.5 is a petrol? If so, check if done or even do the cambelt & followers.

Hello and a warm welcome to you! :y

Hi bulleed, it ain't the cheapest car you'll ever drive, but it'll munch the miles in comfort. As said above, make sure the cambelt's done
And welcome to the forum :y

Welcome to the forum. :y......you might get more answers to your questions in general car chat, but I sold my P reg 2.5 recently for £325. It was mechanically excellent and had a lovely leather interior and a long MOT, so imo the car is well over priced.
