Hi all
I dont have an O mega as yet but am hoping to pick up a V6 3.0 ELITE estate at the weekend ..... have metioned it to a guy at work and have been told to steer clear of the 3 litre v6 as they " let go" quite regulary something to do with the oil pump which is why he says the scrap yards are full of them and they are so cheep the one im looking at is a 2000 year on a w .... any advice welcome
Cheers

Hiya welcome aboard.
Yes scrap-yards are full of all makes and models, and we all have our preferences as to which cars we own,but i've not heard of the omega v6 having problems with oil pumps.
Saying all that good maintainence is the key to all cars.

Hi, welcome to the forum. :y
I think your mate may be a tad jealous there matey.
I have been on here 2 1/2 years now and seen this forum grow by over 3500 new members and it all that time I cant honestly say I can remmeber an oil pump failure.
All cars have issues that are common to them, the omega ones are due to a lack of maintainance by thier owners and like all cars, just a couple of hours TLC here and there I wouldnt forsee major issues one you are on top of the job. I have 2 V6 Omega's and nearly a 3rd one during the week, but it would have been a hard job deciding which of my 2 current migs I would part with had I have aquired a ne one.
All the best with your purchase. :y

Hiya Frosty- nice car.Like i've said good maintainence is key to the Omega v6.
There are great guides inthe "general help " section.
If you don't know or trust when the last cam-belt and tensioners was replaced, budget for and change.
Also frequent oil and filter changes keeps the omega healthy. :y :y
