Thanks for the welcome, i have owned an omega before ...one of the first ones 2.5 v6 . Had the dreaded cam cover problem which vauxhall told me it was a common problem >:( Ive heard if you fit steel cam covers of a vectra v6 that this will cure the problem :question My last car was a vectra v6 and i never had any probs with the cam covers :y

Welcome to OOF. No need to fit steel camcovers (it can actually cause more problems than it solves) as you will soon find out from info on here,if the car is properly looked after the problem wont occur in the first place. :y

Hi, welcome along.You can fit Vectra covers, they are more rigid and have a much more efficient, wider gasket then the plastic covers fitted to the Omega,with the added benefit that you can use cheap aftermarket gaskets which is not advisable with standard covers.
However, it is important to keep the crankcase breather system clean whichever covers you use as this is one of the reasons that the gaskets blow in the first place, and if excess pressure is allowed to build up in an engine fitted with Vectra cam covers there is a chance oil could start to leak from elsewhere.
