I have a post in another thread about this Upgrade, but it is honestly Brilliant, I can only tell when it has changed gear by the rev counter dropping.

I, amongst several others, had it done yesterday. I will give it a few days to see what the difference is. Not a fair test on the way back from Newent as I had quite a bit of extra weight and a strong head wind all the way back.
Towing the caravan, the car did not drop into 2nd up hills like it used to but tends to the gearbox tends to 'lock up' in third and is reluctant to change into 4th with the cruise control on. Fuel consumption was significantly worse on the way home but as I said, we had an extra passenger, quite a bit more luggage and a strong head wind all the way home.
Having said all that, gear changes did seem a lot smoother.

Other towers have said it seems to stop the constant 3rd/4th hunting when towing, by sticking with 3rd a bit more when under load...

As the car will not drop to second, do you find you are losing speed up hills, could this not cause issues, when you say "lock up" will it not go to forth.

It had to be a fairly long downhill stretch to change into 4th with the cruise on. Turn the cruise off and back on again and it changed into 4th almost straight away. As soon as I got back onto the level or a slight incline it seemed to want to change back into 3rd. Now, towards home I tried setting the cruise at just under 60 and that did seem to make a little difference as there was not such a draw on the engine.
Anyway, I only tow the van any distance two or three times a year. The most important thing, as far as I'm concerned, is what it is like under 'normal' driving conditions. I will post here in a week or so with my considered thoughts.
