Hi guys
I'm Matt, 28 from Altrincham.
I have recently taken ownership (free) of a Y reg Vauhall Omega 2.2 CD Auto.
To cut a long story short, a women my dad was working for was leaving the country and just wanted to get rid of the omega as she didnt have time to sell etc etc.
The car is black, has 7 months mot (no tax) and is currently reading 127k on the clock.
I havent got much history on the car, but it stands me for nothing so i'm not too worried.
Condition wise, its a belter. Only a few scuffs and the interior needs a little clean but in all i'm very happy.
We've had to replace the battery and it had a water leak which was tracked down to one of the heater valves.
Running wise, it seems ok but not 100%. I have a quick look on the forum but maybe some will be able to advise??
Cold start - Not the best. It genrally starts ok with a little throttle, but can sound a bit rough and the idle isnt the best. After 2 mins of so, it runs fine. I'm guessing some of the sensors might need a clean (which ones, and where can I find them?)
Gearbox - Seems to go in limp mode. Not whilst driving, just which I first start it on a morning. I dont get any warning lights but I can tell its in this state because I cannot select sport mode. To fix this (and it works without fail) I simply turn the engine off, and back on then its back in business (quick test that I can engadge sport mode)
Drivers seat - The switch seems broken and I cannot operate it. Although its likely to be the switch, could it be anything else? I'm pretty sure the heating doesnt work on this seat either?
Interior Boot release - This doesnt work, although it works fine on the fob!
Sorry for all the questions! Just thought I'd get them in now as I guess most newbies do!
Thanks
Matt
