People,
It's been re*uested by several, my opinions on the Gearbox Upgrade V9..
Had it done in Newent by The Boy...
Firstly: Great changes noticed when hauling the "Towable Home" back to Stoke.
Prior to the change, @ 60 mph on the flat the revs were at 2250 rpm, they are now @ just over the 2000 mark.... gearchanges are much smoother... there seems to be much, much more tor*ue... also, when it locks up into top gear it's less of a thud... there is NO slip, it just engages... excellent!! That's motorway stuff...
Went through some heavy bends on a road I know well, don't hang about, "Towable Home on or NOT" can't believe just how smooth the changes are. Very drivable, even when dragging a ton +
With the car solo, once again, much smoother changes... drops nicely into lock up too..
When travelling in top gear at about 50 mph there was the normal indecisive "Should I lock up or not?" That's gone, or it's certainly diminished somewhat..
There is defo more tor*ue, sport mode or non... kicks down easier too, holds you in the seat longer... the kids loved the white knuckler on the A road home.... sport mode seems to have better engine braking, holding that gear longer on deceleration.. Grrrrrrrrrrrrr8
Can't comment about the economy.. pretty sure that it'll be better.. due to the more calculated changes...
