Hi all
First Omega was gold '98 2.5 Elite, bought for £550. Did 10,000 miles on it (in 6 months) then sold it for £350. Luxury econo-barge or what? ;D
Just got myself my 2nd Omega, a metallic black end-of-the line 2.6 CDX with LPG for £1500. Hope this one owns me for a min of 30,000 miles.
I just love Omegas - great for daily pootling around in practical comfort, over long and short distances, in rain, sun or snow. It does everything well and wafts along forever. Reliable, unobtrusive, functional, comfortable, unobtrusive, great seats, big boot, excellent soundproofing (the perfect car for undercover PI work - not that I am one).
My girlfriend's got some stupid Euro-box petrol-saving shopping trolley she paid ten grand for and she always marvels at the Omega's smoothness, acceleration and refinement.
My sister's husband paid ten grand for his '55 530d. We swapped for a week and he didn't turn up to hand it back, saying he wanted to take the Omega to France as it was better for the job than his Beemer.
But anyway, I guess I'm preaching to the converted.
But I do wonder why GM pulled out of the large rear-wheel drive saloon car market here in the UK...

Yep! And for future reference everyone, if I upset y'all, it's Dave's fault cos he made me join!
Tried to get a job in advertising, but all I could come up with is the line: "Omega Estates - they're boxy, but they're good" :-/
Vauxhall will never give me a job. Can't apply to Hummer cos they stopped making them. Nope, back to washing submarines for me! 8-)
