Title: AR35 gearbox
Post by: sparkybun on 14 July 2006, 22:24:01
Hi,

Can anyone tell me how I can tell when the AR35 box was put on the 2.5td models - basically what age on?  Or was it done by a particular reg?

Also did the later Td's do 55mpg by the way........................................... ;D

Cheers

Mel

Ok, I have 3 2.5TD's, so I suppose that makes me the best qualified to answer this.

No, it won't do 55mpg usually. I have had 52mpg out of one, but only on a dead level road at 60mph. The slightest hill and that drops down a lot.

However, they will do about 45-48mpg at a steady 70mph. More like 25-30 around town.

AR35 was fitted from around 1998 on, about the time of the mini facelift.

Hi ronnie,

Only kidding really about the 55mpg....  ::) ::).  Thanks about the AR35 info..  What do you think about the one i posted earlier?  Does it look good value and i assume it would have the AR35 box?

Thanks
