Title: Attempted theft damage with a happy ending.
Post by: The Cambelt Kid on 19 July 2006, 23:07:27
Hey chaps,

I just thought I’d enlighten you on my recent brush with what I can only describe as ‘SCUMBAGS’, the ones who tried to break into my trusty Omega!

Thankfully the scumbag who was armed with a B&Q screwdriver didn’t manage to get through my drivers lock but did manage to put a deep scratch in my handle assembly, narrowly avoiding the door skin.  So on one hand I was relieved that they didn’t get in but on the other they did scratch my handle.  The rather scumbags have no respect - Arrghhh!  >:(

So I visited the nice chaps at MegaVaux the other day and paid out £10 for a ready painted NSR door handle without the lock hole and replaced it with that!  I figured that if they didn’t have a lock to stab they might do the next car instead, not to mention that it looks pretty neat too!

Who needs keys to open the door anyway? I just hope the battery doesn't go flat! (although i've heard of a way around that)  :)

Cheers
Marc

nice one! bet the drivers door looks a bit better without the lock on it. Just keep a spare key!

Sounds like a good idea although not a problem as the boot is usually unlockable in the event of the battery going dead, I usually keep the ski hatch unlocked just in case.

Post some pics up maybe, show us all your handy work.  :)
