does anyone no a car phone fitter who can fit me a car phone..already taken it out of old car...only bit they would need is new ariel.want the glass mount type fitted to the back of my elite.....in and aroung the kettering northants area please
-
Does your elite not already have aerial fitted (post 98 ones should)?
What phone kit is it - most kits now do not require aerial, and use phones own.
You can fit this yourself and save a bob or 2 ;) - I've always fitted all mine...
-
phone is a fixed car motorola.will prob have ago myself.....dont no about the ariel being ok for a phone
-
If you are after a fixed carphone, there are other options, such as the ccrt700 stereo with built in phone. I believe Ronnie has one for sale ;)
Fixed kits do tend to need aerials.
Why not just get a carkit for your normal mobile (assuming you have one)?
-
only want to fit phone because it is there....but..tell me more about this radio with inbuilt phone...any pics and what does it need to make it fit and work
-
how do i get itouch with ronnie....might be very interested

Click on 'Members' button near top of each screen, just under logo. Ronald McBurger is on the first screen of members, and highlighted in red as an Admin.
I believe you need the ccrt700, a new display, a 'conference mike' (basically a new courtsey light with integrated mic), and an aerial (the tax disc holder aerials work well). It does make for a tidy install.
Not sure if you need any extra loom, may depend on age of car.
-
Though as I said, why not get a bluetooth type kit for you existing mobile?
-

Not sure how easy/complicated a retrospective fit will be though cos not all car are the same (obviously!) My car has sat-nav which talks to you via a tuppenny ha'penny speaker in the passenger footwell, but I've also seen another Elite without the CCRT700 and the sat-nav in that talks to you via the stereo's speakers. Vauxhall says that you can't have both the phone & sat-nav via the stereo's speakers, although the hand book says that "an external source can be connected to the CCRT700 (eg a navigation system)"

Vauxhall talk a lot of 'dangle berries'.

I know they do, but why use the seperate speaker if it's possible to 'wire' the sat-nav into the stereo without using a seperate speaker?
PS That wasn't a Vauxhall dealer that said it, it was from the Vx tech via A N Other dealer who does know what he's talkkng about - rare I know but true! ::)

I have fitted phone kits to Omegas that have TMO. Just different leads, thats all.

TMO? Too Many Omegas? :)
I've never been 4r$ed to look into it but does that mean I could get rid of my cheapo speaker in the passenger footwell and 'play' my Carin sat-nav via the car stereo speakers aswell as the CCRT700?

Soz, Traffic Master Oracle.
If the ccrt700 has an aux in, should be possible... ...aux in on most radios is used for phone, but this unit already has phone built in...
