Following on with my Blue Smoke issue after the MOT.
The car is now road legal again since the retest but I still need to solve the problem I am having.
It was suggested that the piston rings and valve stem seals maybe on there way out.
More than likely but I may have another avenue to try before going down the head off route.
Basically I know I need to get the rocker cover gasket replaced as there are signs of oil at the front running down the side of the Thermostat housing onto the exhaust manifold, I am thinking that oil has been seeping into the manifold as the seal is not the best due to the missing studs, perhaps burning causing the blue smoke.
You could smell it from inside the bonnet near the manifold so I think my next moves will be remove the exhaust manifold and rocker cover to see if there is any signs of whats going on.
I think before the head off route I may try my luck with fixing the above to see if it makes any difference.
And I will also need a new CAT as chances are its now on its way to being fooked.
Does the above sound a possible or is it worth just doing a full strip down and rebuild.
I was thinking of even doing a pressure test to see if it was the Headgasket.
Any Advice is much appreciated. :)

Shall see about getting one done.
Halfords do a pressure test kit as far as I know although might get a garage to do it.

I did use the Halfords one - worked fine.
I would also recommend taking the wipers off and the scuttle to get access to number 6. And the relays are a bugger to get out (well mine were anyway).

Cheers for the link, I think I maybe more fortunate as I only have a 4pot 2.0 jobby either way though cheers for the suggestion.

Had a good look under the bonnet last night it seems there is a buzzing clicking type noise hard to describe coming from the manifld area, I think my Idea might be right but I still will be getting it pressure tested to be on the safe side.
I am consider trying to get my hands on a 2.0 new head as the cams, valves and tappets should swap over, only I think the manifold seal is not going to be the best even with using helicoil on the missing manifold studs to better the seal.

Well :o just contacted autovaux for curiosity with regards a new cylinder head the deal is not too bad considering it comes with new valves and springs but all in it is £350 so I may have to wait a while for this one.
Do a temporary job on the manifold.

Been lookiing online at tap and die kits for remaking the threads to my manifold studs which are knackered.
Can anyone tell me what the thread size are for the manifold studs I am assuming I will need to use something slightly bigger when retapped.
Do Vx do larger size manifold studs at all.
Any Advice on this is much appreciated
