Just lately i have noticed that at times ( not most of the time ) my car seems to crank over 4 or 5 times before firing ! It happens when warm or cold engine , when it happens !!!!
When this does happen, the old spanner light pops up on the dash board !
Turn engine off and start again, SPANNER GONE !
Any ideas mates !!!

Sounds a bit like like my cam sensor prob to me or maybe crank sensor
Have you got access to read the codes??

carnt be done on a facelift.....well not a 2.2/2.6/3.2
it will need either a cheepo tech2 or the real thing ;)

mine does the spanner light sometimes... but it only did it in that heat wave we had.
Also it was only on really, really short journeys when i took the dog for a walk.
Never comes on normally, i justed ignored it.

Yup , might have to pay Jamie a vist one of these days !
He's only about 20 miles away from me !
Hey Jamie, we will have to arrange something, as and when .
Still if its only - maybe- a crank sensor, not a difficult or expensive job.

Tie it to the bumper and go for a slow drive ::)

Just re-read my post, did't make much sense!! Bah thats Beer for you confuses things.
Yeah I do take the dog for a walk, but I use the megga to take her to the walk I do. Around here you have to pick up their mess, and there is no way i am doing that!
So put her in the car, and drive out of the town into the country. There is some nice walks up their, and she can poo as many times as she likes and i don't have to do anything about it!
Plus she is off the lead out there, and she has a better walk. Got some piccys in my gallery here:

Couple of words of advice, that lifejacket needs replacing, and when your tacking get your weight further forwad otherwise youll sink the transom and stall the boat ;D ;D

cheers, was a good day out at brands hatch. My knees when to jelly when i was taking pictures of that babe, she looked directly at me the whole time i was there! lol
I have not had the time to sail in ages now, really must go check on it. I have capsized a couple of times, which was fun. Trouble is I do no weigh enough to control the boat, with a full lazer sail on it takes about 12 stone to control it, but being 10 stone, no matter how far i lean out, she always goes over! ;D

Tunnie, back to the spanner symbol, IIRC we cleared a couple of cam sensor errors? Might be worth checking if reappeared?

Only just picked this thread up, it was the cam sensor on my 2.2, no problems since it was changed about 4/5 months ago.
