Title: Power Steering "rubbing?"
Post by: JamesV6CDX on 17 September 2006, 15:25:14
When stationary, or at low speeds, when I turn from lock to lock, I get a real vibration coming through the passenger side footwell - and I can fell it in the drivers footwell to. It sounds like something is "rubbing"... this happens with the car raised and the wheels off the ground.

I can't see anything obvious - anyone got any ideas? :)

Dont turn the wheel as low speeds or when stationary, and turn the radio up  ;D

Seriously happens sometimes with mine in car park, think its just the nature of big heavy car, wide tires and dodgey surface.

Obvious thought is to jack it up and support on stands, then get someone to turn the wheel whilst you feel each joint in the steering linkage.
I would guess at the n/s idler arm bush but you should be able to pinpoint it easily.
