Title: Bypassing immobiliser

does anyone know how to bypass the immobilers on a 20l ecotec it turns over but will not fireIve checked the fuel pump and that works (by taking out and two bits of wire on a battery) but it dosent seem to be getting any fuel to the spark plugs ive got a feeling its the immobilser so its a process of elimination any idea guys

'fraid not, tech2 wont do it.

If its got the early IR central locking, it can be bypassed apparently. The newer ones with rf remotes cannot be.

EML flashes if immobiliser problem.

Do a paperclip test, could be something like failed crank sensor...

will it show a fault even if the engine hasnt been running to register the fault as i had mine reset? :question

Yes, as if it won't start due to engine management detecting a prob, that will be stored...

 :-[ Thanx il give it ago tomorrow in the light its doing my head  in there is nothing else that im missing as its an auto would any of the transmission sensors prevent it starting ie the selector sw :-[ :-[ :(itch or the trans output speed sensor :question

If selector switch is knackered (ie it thinks its in a drive gear, then it won't even turn over...

Read the fault codes and post back  :)
