Title: 2.2 TDI Emission Light
Post by: stevief on 20 September 2006, 18:13:33
Don't know where to start looking with this one apart from taking the car into the main dealers. The last two mornings and tonight when leaving work the emission light has come on. Turning off the engine and re-starting cleas the problem but is still worrying that it has come on in the first place.

Any ideas would be appreciated as I will not be able to get to the dealership until the weekend.

Soz, I know nothing about 2.2DTi engine :(

However, checking around the hoses to the turbo is always worth a look with these engines...

Phoned the main dealers on Friday to be told it would be at least two weeks before ethey could hook the car up on tech 2 as they were so busy. Then rememberd that one of the local tuning firms advertised tech 2 capability as they did a lot of Vax modifications. Gave them a call and they fitted me in on Friday lunchtime. Fault was  the glow plug circuit so a new set were fitted yesterday and touch wood it looks to have cleared the problem.

Only disappointment is the main dealers inability to do anthing for two weeks. Saying that though the Ford dealers I bought the car from quoted 4 weeks and the focus threw up an ESP fault today so we may get that checked before the winter hits hence the other post about OBD compliance on the Omega as I need to get a scanner.
