Hi Guys, anyone shead any light on this little niggle. Am getting the "coolant level" code coming up , but only about every 3 days. as soon as I reset using switch stick it returns to the" outside temp" reading that I normally leave it on. I am not losing any coolant at all, even on a 200 mile weekend trip. It is just bugging me as to why it is happening. Engine temp is a steady 95 . cheers guys , any help is greatly appriciated. Regards, Big Al , Sunny Saffend, Essex.

Probably the sensor mate . Think it might be in the filler cap( or was that my old rover :-[), might just need contacts cleaning. :y

Is the coolant a bit low at all?
There is a float in the expansion bottle and if the coolant is a bit low it could be rising enough to switch it off as the engine warms up and the coolant expands.

Take the lid off the coolant bottle and look inside, you should see the float assembly.
Sometimes they get covered in loads of crud and can occasionally sink but, its more likely to be the electrical connections underneath being a bit iffy (if you miss the coolant bottle then they can get a soaking!)
