Title: Parking lights
Post by: Bo Bo on 11 October 2006, 02:54:12
I had another completely flat battery on Sunday,  :(only left it two days & that was after doing 275 miles in one day during the week, so there should have been plenty in it.
I've had all the usual things checked again & everything's fine.
The last time this happened; someone on here suggested that I might have left the indicator on when switching off & thereby leaving the parking lights on & not noticing.
I've been careful, but may have done it again!?  :-[ so does anyone know if there's any way to turn this function off?

Yep, no problem. What you do is return the indicator stalk to the cancelled position! It isn't hard, works well and is by far the easiest solution.

Heres a serious answer   ;)

Dosnt a warning beeper go off when you leave your parking lights on???

It should.....

On mine a continous beep if i open drivers door with key still in ignition
Two tone beep if ive left the lights on with key out and door open
Another two tone beep for parking lights on and key out and door open

This is on a facelift but woulda thought same applied to pre

Cheers

They will be the ones that are also fitted to Astra H's and the old man sells no end of them because people keep snapping them off....!

Had an Astra H coming back from France last year when the MV6 decided it wanted to have a longer holiday.

Stalks did seem like they wouldn't take too much abuse, but then it was a wrecked hire car  - and I mean wrecked...  (only had about 6000kms on clock, but every single panel had seen some 'jousting' - and I added one to front bumper by hitting a bloody great crow at about 180km/hr).
